Our mission is to improve the environment of Calcutta and promote sustainable urban living. Our focus areas are land-use planning, the protection of wetlands, water bodies and open spaces, air and noise pollution, and the conservation of heritage buildings. We promote "active citizenship" so that citizens can actively play a role in improving urban living conditions. Through advocacy, media communication, public interest litigation and direct action we put these issues on the public agenda with the goal of improving policy and practice.
